Color male hinges are specifically designed to be paired with color female hinges, thereby creating a complete chain link gate hinge. The male hinge is affixed to the gate post, whereas the female hinge attaches to the gate uprights. To hang the gate, one merely needs to insert the male pin into the female pin hole. Strap hinges are typically employed for residential and commercial swing gates; they are easy to install and operate, making them the most commonly used type of gate hinge.
